We are calling a Donald Trump victory in Louisiana with 8 electoral votes.
Trump has claimed 62.5 percent of the vote beating off Clinton’s 35 percent.
The Republican was heavily favoured in the state, which has gone for the GOP in seven of the past 10 presidential elections.
Democrat Jimmy Carter previously won Louisiana in 1976, where as Bill Clinton won the state in 1992 and in 1996.
His wife and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has failed to follow in his footsteps however.
